Cataract surgery for Regina: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled cataract surgery in October is out of reach without help covering $3,300 of the cost.

Regina was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in August. The surgeon at Móstoles Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,400, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,300 short.
my mother has been in and out of Móstoles Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Regina struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Regina won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
