Cataract surgery for Naveen: covering what insurance won't
Naveen needs cataract surgery at Rohini Regional Medical Center and the family is $1,100 short of the hospital's estimate.

In June I was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections. My surgeon at Rohini Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $2,200, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $1,100 short.
Doctors at Rohini Regional Medical Center told me gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a call-centre agent, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $2,200 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a call-centre agent have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $600
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $270
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $45
• Post-operative medication: $50
• Physiotherapy sessions: $80
• Travel and lodging for the family: $55
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thinking of you, Naveen. Hope the doctors have good news. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Thanks for sharing this. Shared this with my family. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
