Ikenna was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in September. The surgeon at Epe Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,350, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,000 short. my father has been in and out of Epe Orthopedic Institute since September. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,350 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ikenna struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Ikenna won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,000 goes: • Hospital stay (5 nights): $460 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $370 • Post-operative medication: $50 • Travel and lodging for the family: $45 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $75 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Kelechi

  1. 16% there. I made the first payment toward travel and lodging for the family. Thank you.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($486 in total) I made the first payment toward post-operative medication. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 57% funded and the plan for travel and lodging for the family is now scheduled.
