Carter was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in August. The surgeon at Louisville Community Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $15,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $7,600 short.
my father has been in and out of Louisville Community Hospital since August. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $15,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Carter struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Carter won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.

Sure. The biggest one is surgeon and anesthesia fees, $2,500. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.
