Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Vijay
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Aurangabad.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India93 views
Vijay has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Vijay can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Vijay's family will cook lunch for the team.

Thanks for sharing this, Aarav. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Stay strong, Aarav. Looking forward to the next update. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
