Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Everett
Everett uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇺🇸 Lafayette, Louisiana, United States842 views
Everett has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Everett can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Everett's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Wishing you peace. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from New Delhi!
Hang in there, Eli. Get well soon. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Lafayette.
Best of luck. Wishing Everett a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Wish I lived closer to Chattogram so I could bring a meal.
Hope you get there. My neighbor in Mecca donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
