Carpenters wanted: an entrance ramp for Alamin
Help Alamin regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India1,416 views
Alamin has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Alamin can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Alamin's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Good luck, Rima. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in Mumbai but we're thinking of you
Hang in there, Rima. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Mumbai
Thinking of you and your family. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Mumbai.
