Care for Wayne, 79: help cover a carer and medication in Johannesburg
Wayne can't afford the care He needs after worsening Parkinson's disease; we're asking for $1,300.
🇿🇦 Gauteng, South Africa1,018 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 79. After worsening Parkinson's disease Wayne can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Wayne desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Wayne worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $1,050
• Medication and prescriptions: $160
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $55
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $35
Thank you so much.

Praying for you, Gerhard. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours.
