Care for Volkan, 78: help cover a carer and medication in Üsküdar
Volkan, 78, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,200 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 78. After a stroke last August Volkan can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Volkan desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Volkan worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $110
• Part-time carer (eight months): $1,050
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $40
