I'm caring for my mother, who's 85. After the death of her spouse Verónica can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Verónica desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Verónica worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $2,350
• Medication and prescriptions: $550
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $310
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $290

Small update. $489 so far, I made the first payment toward hospital bed and mattress rental.
Quick update: $434 raised so far (12%). I made the first payment toward medication and prescriptions. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
