I'm caring for me, who's 79. After a heart attack Tizita can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Tizita desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Tizita worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $650 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $460
• Medication and prescriptions: $100
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $25
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $65

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tizita.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. part-time carer (three months) is the biggest at $460. I'll keep the page updated.
