Patrick, 81, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $350 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 81. After the death of his spouse Patrick can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Patrick desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Patrick worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $350 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $85
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $140
• Medication and prescriptions: $125
