Care for Francois, 79: help cover a carer and medication in Johannesburg
Francois, 79, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,500 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 79. After worsening Parkinson's disease Francois can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Francois desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Francois worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.

• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $55
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $155
• Part-time carer (six months): $1,290
