I'm caring for my mother, who's 94. After a fall and hip fracture Avery can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Avery desperately wants to stay at home. I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Avery worked all of her life as a seamstress, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $6,850 goes: • Part-time carer (six months): $5,250 • Medication and prescriptions: $940 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $190 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $470 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Miles
