Camila was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in July. The oncology team at Girona Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Camila is 42, worked as a primary school teacher until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Girona Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $5,150 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $840 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,450 • Transport to Girona Cancer Centre: $440 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $420 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
