Byung-hun's hip replacement surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled hip replacement surgery in September is out of reach without help covering $4,200 of the cost.

Byung-hun was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in July. The surgeon at Daegu General Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,200 short.
my father has been in and out of Daegu General Hospital since July. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Byung-hun struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Byung-hun won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $4,200 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,050
• Physiotherapy sessions: $230
• Travel and lodging for the family: $200
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $1,720
I hope life is good to you.

how is Byung-hun doing now?
Best of luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Love from Bristol.
