Build a wheelchair ramp for Serenity in Victoria

Serenity uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Serenity has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Serenity can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Serenity's family will cook lunch for the team. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

thinking of you and your family, Benjamin. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double

        • Hang in there, Benjamin. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Put this on a community board in Shubra this morning.
