Build a wheelchair ramp for Sapna in Toronto
Help Sapna regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐จ๐ฆ Ontario, Canada1,296 views
Sapna has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Sapna can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Sapna's family will cook lunch for the team.
I hope life is good to you.

Stay strong, Ankit. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless.
