Build a wheelchair ramp for Olivia in Los Angeles

Olivia uses a wheelchair and cannot leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Olivia has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Olivia can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Olivia's family will cook lunch for the team. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Hope things get better soon, Everett. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Sent it to 3 people at work.

    • thinking of you, Everett. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
