Build a wheelchair ramp for Mohan in Mumbai

Help Mohan regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Mohan has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Mohan can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Mohan's family will cook lunch for the team. I hope life is good to you.

  • Take care, Naresh. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Fort Portal donated after I showed her your page.

    • Hope it all works out, Naresh. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

      • Wishing you peace. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings!
