Build a wheelchair ramp for Melek in Munich

Melek uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Melek has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Melek can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Melek's family will cook lunch for the team. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

    • so sorry you're going through this. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Coventry
