Help Lawrence regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Lawrence has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Lawrence can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Lawrence's family will cook lunch for the team. Thank you so much.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Oliver. Hope the doctors have good news. We're a small family in Quezon City but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Bakersfield.

    • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I'm in farming myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

      • Wishing Lawrence a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

        • Hope you get there. My husband and I read this together. All the best.

          • Rooting for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Nha Trang
