Build a wheelchair ramp for Diego in Uberlândia
Help Diego regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇧🇷 Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil615 views
Diego has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Diego can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Diego's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

you're not alone, Jéssica. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Uberlândia.
So sorry you're going through this. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Stay strong, Jéssica. Wishing Diego a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Uberlândia.
