Build a wheelchair ramp for Cherry in Lowell
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Lowell.
🇺🇸 Lowell, Massachusetts, United States703 views
Cherry has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Cherry can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Cherry's family will cook lunch for the team.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Keep going, Camille. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
Take care, Camille. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless
