Build a wheelchair ramp for Babatunde in Lagos

Babatunde uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Babatunde has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Babatunde can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Babatunde's family will cook lunch for the team. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Lagos.

    • Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Üsküdar.
