Build a wheelchair ramp for Amber in Sydney

Amber uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Amber has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Amber can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Amber's family will cook lunch for the team. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Hope the doctors have good news. Thinking of Sydney.

    • Hope you get there. My neighbor in Gujranwala donated after I showed her your page.

      • Wishing you peace, Wendy. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 14 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from San Jose.

        • Wishing you the best, Wendy. Get well soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings.

          • hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together!
