Build a wheelchair ramp for Amal in Rome
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Rome.
๐ฎ๐น Lazio, Italy206 views
Amal has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Amal can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Amal's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
- effort
- one weekend
- format
- In person in Rome

Best of luck, Fatima. Hope the doctors have good news. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust!
Wishing you peace, Fatima. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest.
Thinking of you and your family. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Hope it all works out, Fatima. Shared this with my family. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Sylhet
