Bruno's hip replacement surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill

Bruno was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in September. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,800, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,950 short.
my husband has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since September. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,800 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Bruno struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Bruno won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
