Brooklyn was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in January. The surgeon at Ann Arbor University Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $4,200 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Ann Arbor University Hospital since January. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Brooklyn struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Brooklyn won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
