Brian was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in August. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $5,500 short.
my brother has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since August. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Brian struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Brian won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
