Bread & Beans Kitchen: keep the shelves full this winter
Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Houston.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Friday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 148 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 51% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Houston market and keep every receipt.
Each $60 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $600
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,300
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,300

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Delilah?
