Bolaji's gallbladder removal can't wait - please help us cover the bill
Bolaji needs gallbladder removal at Ibadan Regional Medical Center and the family is $400 short of the hospital's estimate.
🇳🇬 Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria755 views
Bolaji was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in September. The surgeon at Ibadan Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $570, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $400 short.
my father has been in and out of Ibadan Regional Medical Center since September. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $570 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Bolaji struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Bolaji won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $400 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $50
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $230
• Physiotherapy sessions: $120

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Bolaji
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. pre-operative tests and imaging is the biggest at $50. Good question.
Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Love from Manila.
I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Los Angeles.
Take care. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Berlin
