Bhavna lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Los Angeles Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $700.
Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Bhavna could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $700 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $420
• Delivery and set-up: $130
• First-year servicing plan: $150
