Belo Horizonte landslide relief - the Sunrise district
The landslide damaged 57 homes in the Sunrise district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The landslide hit the Sunrise district on 2 September. My home was one of 57 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,400
• Clean water and purification supplies: $290
• Tools and labor for repairs: $410
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

how is Luís doing now?
Rooting for you, Luís. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 19 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
sending strength, Luís. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Belo Horizonte!
