Belém flood relief - the Riverside neighborhood
The flood damaged 81 homes in the Riverside neighborhood. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Riverside neighborhood on 19 October. My home was one of 81 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $270
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,000
• Tools and labor for repairs: $420
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $410
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

You're not alone. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care
