Beatriz is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a computer science degree at Petrópolis Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,000.
The registrar has said Beatriz can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Beatriz has a 3.8 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Beatriz would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Beatriz isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Petrópolis Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $730
• Final term tuition: $1,100
• Exam and lab fees: $100
• Textbooks and materials: $70
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
