San Fernando

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 253 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $430 • Permits and inspections: $60 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $15 Thank you so much. - Fe
