For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 525 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $370 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $75 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
