Banjong was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in May. The surgeon at Nakhon Ratchasima General Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,800, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $900 short. my father has been in and out of Nakhon Ratchasima General Hospital since May. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,800 is more than we can find. While we wait, Banjong struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Banjong won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
