I earned a place in the first year of senior school at the Johannesburg Selective School, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the graphic design course, and a uniform. My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $250, which is more than we have. I love graphic design and want to become a marine biologist. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours. I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard. Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag. Where the $250 goes: • Laptop: $150 • School uniform and shoes: $30 • Textbooks and workbooks: $60 • Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $10 Thank you so much. - Willem

  • Hang in there, Willem. Gave what I could, wish it was more. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best.
