Waweru won a place at Dar es Salaam Girls' High School but the family can't afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Grade 9 at Dar es Salaam Girls' High School, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the mathematics course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $100, which is more than we have.
I love mathematics and want to become a pilot. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag.
Where the $100 goes:
• Laptop: $80
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $10
• School uniform and shoes: $10
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Thinking of you, Waweru. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Take care.
