I earned a place in Grade 9 at the Pretoria Selective School, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the coding course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $350, which is more than we have.
I love coding and want to become a pilot. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag.
Where the $350 goes:
• Laptop: $185
• School uniform and shoes: $40
• Textbooks and workbooks: $75
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $50
If you're reading this, thank you.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Thabo.
Sure. The biggest one is laptop, $185. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Let me know if you want more detail.
Wishing you the best, Thabo. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors.
Rooting for you, Thabo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless
You're not alone. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in Gazipur this morning. Love from Gazipur
