Back-to-school fund for Kariuki
Kariuki won a place at Dodoma Technical College but the family can't afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Year 10 at Dodoma Technical College, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the mathematics course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $100, which is more than we have.
I love mathematics and want to become a marine biologist. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag.
Where the $100 goes:
• Laptop: $45
• School uniform and shoes: $15
• Textbooks and workbooks: $15
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $25
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

You're not alone, Kariuki. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Blessings
Hope things get better soon, Kariuki. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I'm in nursing myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best
Sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
Hope this works out for you. We're a small family in Kobe but we're thinking of you.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope January is when things finally get easier. Take care
