Johannesburg
Beatrix earned a place in the first year of senior school at Johannesburg Science Academy, and the family couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things She needs, including a laptop for the design and technology course, and a uniform. The family has few resources; the list costs $150, which is more than they have. Beatrix loves design and technology and wants to become a marine biologist. A laptop will allow coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours. She will take care of everything given and works very hard. Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag. Where the $150 goes: • Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $25 • Laptop: $80 • Textbooks and workbooks: $45 Thanks for being kind about this. - Thabisa

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Beatrix.

    • Thabisa B. NkosiOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is calculator, stationery and a school bag, $25. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.

Thinking of you and your family, Thabisa. Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Awka so I could bring a meal.
