Atieno earned a place in Form 4 at the Mbale Selective School, and the family couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things She needs, including a laptop for the chemistry course, and a uniform. The family has few resources; the list costs $165, which is more than they have. Atieno loves chemistry and wants to become a nurse. A laptop will allow coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours. She will take care of everything given and works very hard. Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag. Where the $165 goes: • Laptop: $90 • School uniform and shoes: $30 • Textbooks and workbooks: $40 • Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $5 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Updates from Awino

  1. Thank you all. We're at 82% now ($136). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for school uniform and shoes is now scheduled.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($86 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Update from Mbale: I made the first payment toward textbooks and workbooks. We're at 42% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
