Back-to-school fund for Adrián
Adrián won a place at Mérida Science Academy but the family cannot afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Form 4 at Mérida Science Academy, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the mathematics course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $250, which is more than we have.
I love mathematics and want to become a nurse. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
I'll buy the items from the school's approved supplier and post photos of everything.
Where the $250 goes:
• School uniform and shoes: $30
• Textbooks and workbooks: $45
• Laptop: $175
Glad we found this place.

Rooting for you, Adrián. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Wish I lived closer to Barranquilla so I could bring a meal. Love from Bogra

Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. After 14 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
