Back to business - Zoya's comeback in Lahore
Zoya has run a neighborhood bakery for three years; the demolition of the market destroyed the equipment, and $400 will put it back on its feet.

For three years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Lahore. In October, the demolition of the market took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $400 goes:
• Replacing a commercial oven: $220
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $60
• Shop repairs and licensing: $65
• Working capital for the first month: $55
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Ottawa
Wishing you peace, Zoya. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Manila
Looking forward to the next update. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from San Francisco
Stay strong, Zoya. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
Stay strong. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Los Angeles!
Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Surabaya so I could bring a meal. All the best.
Hang in there, Zoya. Hope the shop reopens soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.
this could happen to any of us. After 30 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
