Back to business - Yakubu's comeback in Ibadan
A flower stall in Ibadan needs help replacing display cabinets and a cooler after floodwater.
🇳🇬 Oyo, Nigeria1,172 views
For fifteen years I have run a flower stall in Ibadan. In June, floodwater took display cabinets and a cooler. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $350 goes:
• Initial stock: seasonal flowers: $75
• Working capital for the first month: $40
• Replacing display cabinets and a cooler: $235
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Updates from Yakubu
Good news. Because of your gifts ($77 in total) I made the first payment toward initial stock: seasonal flowers. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Yakubu
Update from Ibadan: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 14% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
