Back to business - Shanice's comeback in Kingston
A fish stall in Kingston needs help replacing a freezer and scales after the demolition of the market.

For fifteen years I have run a fish stall in Kingston. In August, the demolition of the market took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $850 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $85
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $500
• Initial stock: the first catch: $265
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Shanice
Working capital for the first month is $85 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Happy to explain more.
So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Kingston.
You're not alone, Shanice. Looking forward to the next update. Love from Jaipur
take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
Stay strong, Shanice. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Blessings.
Praying for you. Hope you make a strong comeback. It's not much but it's yours. God bless.
thinking of you, Shanice. Hope the shop reopens soon. All the best.
Looking forward to the next update. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too!
stay strong, Shanice. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
