Back to business - Sanjay's comeback in Jodhpur
A neighborhood bakery in Jodhpur needs help replacing a commercial oven after a storm that collapsed the roof.
🇮🇳 Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India624 views
For twelve years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Jodhpur. In April, a storm that collapsed the roof took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Friday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $450 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $40
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $80
• Replacing a commercial oven: $330
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
Updates from Sanjay
Small update. $103 so far, I made the first payment toward replacing a commercial oven.
Thank you all. We're at 18% now ($83). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for initial stock: flour, butter and sugar is now scheduled.
Update from Jodhpur: the plan for initial stock: flour, butter and sugar is now scheduled. We're at 12% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Jodhpur.
Sending love, Sanjay. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
